The title of the game tells you all you need to know about it: It's a 2D space shooter where the player controls a ship, orbiting around a planet. Almost instantly, the periphery of the screen fills up with UFOs, enemy starfighters, and space detritus (including meteors). The player must use one of a variety of weapons to destroy the enclosing threats before they crash into the planet and/or destroy the ship.

Controls:

The control scheme is simple, with the mouse clicking to fire and dragging left or right to change direction. There are six different ship weapons, with each weapon having three levels of augmentation.

Upgrades:

Each time the player kills a certain number of enemies, they will be rewarded with upgrades for their ship and their planet. These upgrades augment various attributes of the weapon, such as rate of fire, accuracy and reload time. They may also reduce the amount of damage it sustains per hit, speed regeneration or allow for nuclear missiles to be fired from the planet.

Stage Power Ups:

In each level, there are stage power ups that can be shot at to activate them. These can range from a Silver Crate that gives 100 bonus points, to an Orange Nuclear Drum that explodes in a small radius and can kill any ships caught in the blast.

Despite its relatively basic 2-dimensional format, Clash N Slash is still a fun arcade game with reasonable graphics. It's mindless and addictive, and is a good choice for short breaks from work or studies.
